Welcome to the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology website and specifically to the office of the Dean

of Students. The Institute offers diverse academic programmes in the fields of Engineering (Electrical, Building, Civil,

Architecture, Mechanical, Automotive) Business (Secretarial, Accounting, Management, Entrepreneurship), ICT, Applied Sciences, Health Sciences, Food and Beaverage

There are vibrant co-curricula activities undertaken in the Institute and these include sports and games that range from athletics, ball games, in-door games, drama and music.  The students also get chances to participate in recognized professional clubs and societies that encompass religious, tae kwondo, wildlife, scouts & Red Cross, among others.

The office of the Dean of Students co-ordinates students’ welfare, co-curricular activities, Orientation /induction of new students, liaison with partners (parents, guardians/sponsors), guidance and counseling services. These activities are designed to enhance success in the students’ academic as well as personal development. The office of the Dean fondly advocates for students needs, issues and concerns that affect them.

We advise students with Low Economic Background, students from ASAL Areas and High-Disease-Burden Areas to seek loans and bursries from the following Financial Institutions:

  • Higher Education Loans Board – HELB
  • Constituency Development Funds
  • County Governments
  • Funzo Kenya Project (USAID Funded Project) in partnership with HELB offer aid to students taking Health related courses. Product name is Afya Elimu Fund

The office of the Dean is devoted in supporting the Vision and Mission of the Institute and it strives to offer exemplary services to the students, staff, alumni, community, among other stakeholders.
